Music at St Michael's

St Michael’s has a strong music tradition which greatly enhances the pupils’ learning experiences including Orchestra and class tin whistle tuition. Pupils can participate in a wide range of musical activities throughout the year, including playing and singing at the school’s liturgies, the Carol Concert, Music Festivals and the End of Year School Musical.

We are very fortunate to have a wide range of musical tuition in school provided through the School of Music:

Additionally, we offer group GUITAR lessons led by Mr Marshall from Marshall Guitar School.

Our classes from Year 3-7 have weekly TIN WHISTLE lessons provided by Mrs Rafferty.

Pupils in Key Stage 2 are offered the opportunity to complete their initial grades in tin whistle. Pupils also can also attend the TRADITIONAL GROUP and have played and performed in sessions with other traditional music groups from the Belfast area. Additionally, we offer an Afterschool Traditional Group every Thursday afternoon.
