We have enjoyed another brilliant month in Miss Mulholland’s Year 1 class! This month we were delighted to welcome in Alba’s Daddy who spoke to us about his very exciting job as a bicycle designer! We really enjoyed hearing about the things he considers when designing bicycles and about how they are made. Thank you so much Mr Repolles for giving up your morning to speak to us and for the exciting gift bags!!
We also welcomed in Jessie’s Nana and her friend Sheila who did some sea creature artwork with us. We learnt lots about each creature and were delighted with our beautiful wall display at the end! Thank you Toni and Sheila for all your preparation and time!
We have been enjoying the sunny weather and using our outdoor play area. We have performed on the stage, made houses and boats at the construction area, enjoyed transferring water at the water area and weeded and planted in our flower beds.
We had great fun during our Junk Construction morning. Our focus was to make ice-cream cones, ice-cream sandwiches and cakes for an Ice-cream Parlour in our role-play area. Miss Mulholland was so impressed at how creative we were, how we were able to share ideas and resources with our classmates and problem-solve to make our finished products. Our creations almost look good enough to eat!
We have started to explore directional movements by programming Bee-Bot.
We have been given a new Interactive Whiteboard and are really excited about all the fabulous things it can do! Everyone is going to get a chance during Morning Play sessions to explore some educational games and activities on it and Miss Mulholland is using it to enhance our Literacy, Numeracy and World Around Us lessons.
Naomi, our wonderful classroom assistant, finished her time in our class this month. We all really love Naomi as she is so caring and funny. She has been such a big part of our Year 1 experience. We presented her with a book full of memories and Mr Hunter even gave her a big bunch of flowers! Thank you so much Naomi for everything you have done for us! We are so delighted to welcome Neelam back into our classroom who already knows lots of our brothers and sisters! She is so impressed by all of our good work already!
Look out for our final selection of photos in the coming weeks!
