Green Flag Awarded to St Michael's PS
Green Flag awarded to St Michael’s P.S.
Eco-Schools is a global programming engaging millions of children across 67 countries. It aims to empower children to drive change and improve their environmental awareness. One quarter of all the schools in Northern Ireland have been awarded the Green Flag. This is an internationally recognised symbol awarded to schools and colleges and even universities who can show that they are working hard to improve how ‘Green’ their organisation is.
St Michael’s Eco-Council have worked tirelessly this year to earn Green Flag status. The assessors visited our school to see if we were ready to receive our Green Flag and they decided that we were!
Well done to all the Eco-councillors, the staff and parents who supported the work. A special thank-you to Mrs Doherty’s class who were randomly selected by the assessors as the classroom they wanted to visit. The assessors were really impressed by the high level of ‘Eco’ knowledge displayed by the pupils in this P4 class.
