On 3rd February Belfast Giants delivered their presentation to Year 5 6 & 7. We learned a lot about food, the good, the bad and how much of each food group we should be eating.
Evan Cheverie, (Belfast Giants player 9) came along to our school and told us all about the benefits of exercise for our bodies. As an athlete, his training is very demanding and requires big commitment from each player to maintain a healthy lifestyle. To become an elite athlete it requires good genes, high-quality training and conditioning and a sensible diet. He explained ambitious athletes require optimal nutrition as it is essential for peak performance.
We got our photo in the local newspaper with Evan Cheverie and he kindly gave our school some tickets to a Belfast Giants game in the Odyssey Arena.
Our school used the tickets as prizes during our Crazy Sock Day. We raffled family tickets off to each year group. We hope all the winners have a fun time at the game!!
